What is Lead Qualification?

Lead qualification is the process of determining whether a lead is a good fit for your business and is likely to become a paying customer. It's about separating the hot prospects from the tire-kickers. A common framework for this is to distinguish between a Marketing Qualified Lead (MQL) and a Sales Qualified Lead (SQL). An MQL is a lead that the marketing team has deemed likely to become a customer based on their engagement, while an SQL is a lead that the sales team has vetted and confirmed is a legitimate potential customer.
